Welcome to our Employee Spotlight series, where we introduce the people behind StableHost and share the stories, experiences, and expertise that help shape our company.
While clients interact with our products and services every day, there’s always a dedicated team working behind the scenes too that keep everything running smoothly and are always continuously trying to find ways to improve.
This month, we’re sitting down with our Head of Technology, Carlos Escalante, to talk about his career journey, his joys in life, and what goes into building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers thousands of websites.
Carlos plays a key role in guiding our team and ensuring our customers receive the best possible experience.
Let’s get to know him a little better right now!

Tasha – “Thank you so much for joining us today, Carlos.”
Q: First, can you tell us your role at StableHost and how long have you worked here?
Carlos – “Hello, thank you for inviting me. I have been working here for 11 years and my role at StableHost is the Head of Tech.”
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Carlos – “I live in Mexico in Mérida, Yucatán. Here the temperature is a bit higher, but it is okay because sometimes we have a lot of rain. I’ve been working with StableHost for many years, so work life has always been there. I started as a sales agent basically, and as time lapsed I started to grow in other skills. That’s how I eventually got into the Head of Tech position.”
Tasha – “Nice, nice! So you started off in sales and then you were like ‘you know what, I think I’m catching onto this tech stuff!’ That’s cool!”
Q: What do you enjoy most about working in the tech industry?
Carlos – “I really like taking care of the maintenance for servers, especially on Linux servers. I love working with Linux servers like automating them or fixing a problem that can arise on the server. Things like that. Lately, I have enjoyed doing work that is not really related to the server side. I’ve been doing some work on website pages here and there with the team. Doing it has been a lot of fun.”
Q: When it comes to the tech side or behind the screens at StableHost, our readers may not necessarily know what that entails. What type of things are you doing in your day-to-day tasks?
Carlos – “The first thing that I do when I get into to work at StableHost, is turn on my computer and check all of the server alerts and systems that are monitoring our servers. I make sure that nothing is going wrong and everything is fine. That’s my very first step of my day. Then, after that, I check and answer all my emails. Sometimes I get some requests from other brands, or maybe, I have a requests from the tech team or billing team. I respond to all of their questions and move on to helping in Tickets. Especially the tickets that go directly to me. If I find something to fix, or install something new, I go for it. I usually always have multiple meetings as well. These take up a lot of my time, so I try to make sure that those appointments will be accommodated later. Not to mention touching base with our CTO. I usually have at least some requests from over there. Finally, I communicate with our Security Ops team and make sure that the security is going fine, group wide and brand wide. So yeah, that’s mostly my day.”
Tasha – “Gotcha. Sounds like you have a busy work day! And it sounds like you wear many hats or have many different tasks that you do in different departments. You are such an important pivotal part of StableHost! Thank you for that. Well, let’s go ahead and do what I like to call the rapid fire round. You’ll just give a few quick answers. We’ll start off simple.”
Q: Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Carlos – “Earlier.”
Q: Windows, MAC, or Linux? Which one’s your favorite?
Carlos – “MAC.”
Tasha – “Okay. Getting to know you a little more. Alright.
Q – What’s your favorite food?
Carlos – “Hamburgers.”
Tasha – “Yummy. That’s a popular one!”
Q: Do you have a favorite holiday?
Carlos – “I would say… Christmas day.”
Q: First job?
Carlos – “First job I was a collaborator in an internet cafe.”
Tasha – “Oh, that’s very cool. That was fun!”
Q: Any upcoming news or anything that you want to share with our viewers about what may be coming in the future?
Carlos – “We are working on many projects at the same time right now. Some of them I cannot disclose, but it’s going to be a very good year for all of the brands we have. We are working on some new things on the website. I think that is one of the most important things that I will be helping to collaborate with.”
Tasha – “Sounds like we have a lot of exciting announcements coming soon and we’re so happy to be bringing back the blog so that we can keep our clients and readers up-to-date on what’s happening behind their screens.”
Q: Before we go, what message would you like to share with our customers at StableHost?
Carlos – “I want to say that we are going to keep our web hosting secure, reliable, and stable for everybody! You all are welcome here, and we love our customers!”
Tasha – “Thank you so much today Carlos for sitting with me. I’ll let you get back to it! Until we talk again, have a great day.”
Carlos – “No problem. Thank you Tasha!”

Thanks for stopping by!!
Every company has a story, but it’s always the people behind the scenes who write it every day.
After speaking with Carlos it’s easy to see why technical leadership is about far more than infrastructure and code. Curiosity, communication, and a genuine passion for solving problems continue to shape both his career and the direction of StableHost. We’re grateful he took the time to share with us—and we’re already looking forward to the next conversation.
